BISHOP RANSFORD JONES

Senior Pastor

Bishop Ransford C. Jones is a dynamic, anointed, and visionary leader in the Kingdom of God, as well as a passionate community advocate. His spiritual journey began at the Portmore New Testament Church of God in 1984, where he was baptized and mentored by his spiritual father, Bishop Dr. W. A. Blair.

He migrated to Canada in 1992 and continued his ministerial development with the Church of God in Ontario. During this time, he served alongside Bishop Delton Fraser at the Agincourt Church of God as Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, and District Youth Director for fifteen years. In 2007, he was appointed Bishop in the Church of God, following more than twenty years of service in corporate Canada, where he advanced to the executive level.

In 2008, led by the Holy Spirit, Bishop Jones founded Destiny Gospel Centre in Markham, Ontario. He has served the Church of God in Ontario with distinction as an executive board member, holding several key portfolios, including World Missions Director, Evangelism Director, Church Revitalization Director, and currently Family Life Director. He also serves as District Overseer for the Markham/Scarborough District, which includes eight churches. Additionally, he serves on the National Executive Council of the Church of God in Canada under the leadership of Dr. Lennox Walker.

Since 2020, he has served as Chairman of the Canadian Black Clergy and Allies, a multi-denominational body advocating for meaningful societal change and the dismantling of anti-Black racism in Canada.

Bishop Jones holds a Diploma in Management and Accounting, a Bachelor’s degree in Theological Studies, a Master’s degree in Christian Counselling, and an Honorary Doctorate in Divinity.

Throughout his ministry and professional life, he has received numerous awards recognizing his exceptional leadership in both corporate and faith-based settings, including the 2024 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Excellence in Leadership.

Bishop Jones is the author of three books: Principles and Practices of Productive Leadership, Kingdom Love, and Fearless Faith of an Audacious Unstoppable Woman. He enjoys playing Scrabble, dominoes, and golf in his free time.
